General information for entering Hungary
Hungary joined the Schengen Area on 21 December, 2007. From that time visas and residence permits issued by one of the Schengen Member States are valid also for Hungary, and visas/residence permits issued by Hungarian authorities are - as a general rule - also valid for the entire Schengen Area.
VISA application for Szeged2018 CCWC
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary approved the official Invitation Letter of HDBF that will be sent by the Org. Com. of Szeged2018 CCWC to all participating IDBF members that are required to present a visa to enter Hungary.
The principal conditions the Org. Com. is required to check are if these teams are seriously committed to participate the Szeged2018 CCWC and if they are ready to cover cost of their travel and stay. To prove this, each national team requiring official Invitation Letter has to prove the payment of the Entry Fee deposit (USD 500) and confirm that all accommodation costs will be met. Teams not booking Official Accommodation are required to provide written confirmation of their accommodation booking from the hotel concerned. The Org. Com. will issue the official Invitation Letter when the above conditions are fulfilled.
Each end every official Invitation Letter will be sent in copy to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, who will notify all corresponding Diplomatic Missions. In case of countries where other EU country acts on behalf of Hungary the appointed embassies will be notified officially.
The notification of the diplomatic missions does not substitute the visa application. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: the entire visa application process has to be initiated by the teams

Holders of passports issued by the countries, entities or territories listed in the table below are granted visa-free travel to Hungary. For countries and travel documents not included in the list a visa is required. List
